Prison of Despair beta readers!

It's time! Book 8 in the Island of Fog series, Prison of Despair, is now ready for beta readers.

If you'd like to sign up, please click here and fill out the very short form. You'll be emailed a unique link so you can download the book in your preferred format. The book is available right now, and you can start reading as soon as I "approve" you.

This book is due for release on July 20th. I'm giving beta readers three weeks to read it and offer feedback. Only sign up if you:

Will read it by June 7th and offer feedback;
Will offer fairly substantial feedback;
Will strive to make note of typos and other errors;
Will consider writing a review for Goodreads and Amazon.

I'm not asking you to write pages and pages of notes just for the sake of something to say. I'm asking you to give me whatever thoughts you have instead of holding back. Good or bad, I want to know. Also, look for typos and word choices, repetitions, continuity, and so on.

Please, please, please. Have loved every other book in the series and had a chance to beta read the last one too. By the way on your posted comment earlier about the lady that was upset with the way the military was portrayed in the book....my husband has been in the military for 15 years and I am prior military and I found that there was no way that the military was portrayed badly...it is a story :)

Karen, that means a lot to me! Thank you. There are all kinds of arguments I could make, especially the fact that people in general would likely be hardened or even a little crazy after 13 years in a virus-stricken world, even soldiers... but it's not really worth the effort. In a private message, she also commented that I had initially called them U.S. Marines and then incorrectly called them soldiers thereafter. As far as I know, Marines are soldiers.

Sorry, Dave, the beta-reading for #8 PRISON OF DESPAIR actually ended over the weekend. But if you want to sign up for #9 CASTLE OF SPELLS around mid-July, a prerequisite is that you read both books together because they form a 2-part story. :-)

Hmm. I can't help noticing that some of these last few posts are written in an unknown language belonging to some faraway fantasy land. Either that or the auto-correct function is working too hard. Please check your words before posting, people! That way, readers can understand what you're trying to say. ;-)

Shawn, I do have another series due to start in the next few months. SLEEP WRITER is the first of my Unearthly Tales series. I also have QUINCY'S CURSE (already published) and of course FRACTURED, written with co-author Brian Clopper.

Thanks for all this enthusiasm! Book 8 of the Fog series, PRISON OF DESPAIR, is out July 20th, in which Hal and his friends are thrown in jail while an evil villain attempts to steal the Shapeshifter Program. Book 9, CASTLE OF SPELLS, continues the story on August 20th. It's a 2-parter and the last two books of the series.

The last two books!?! That was short. I mean really I'm surprised that that is the last books of the series, I thought that it would be longer, but oh well, re-reading can be fun sometimes, right?
